I began my athletic career in 2008 in swimming, where I eventually became fast enough to win the 2010 and 2011 US Masters 10k Open Water Nationals and also earned the right to compete in the 2011 USA 10k Open Water Olympic Trials. During that same time, I also attended college in pursuit of a career in Accounting and Actuarial sciences. In 2012, while still young, healthy, and strong, I decided to postpone my entrance into Corporate America and I changed my focus to developing my athletic abilities to their fullest extent by competing in triathlon events in the USA.
I consider myself to be a Poor Richard-Indiana Cutter of the triathlon world. While I am debt free, I also do not have access to the latest and greatest racing equipment nor do I have access to any high tech facilities in which train. What I do have is the imagination, adaptability, and determination to succeed. Due to these qualities plus the out of the ordinary sacrifices that are made, I have been steadily working my way through the ranks of the Triathlon community and now look forward to racing in the Escape Triathlon Series and qualifying for the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon as an elite professional triathlete.
