I grew up spending as much time as I could swimming or running, so triathlon seemed like a natural progression. Following high school, I accepted a scholarship to run at the University of Delaware, where I raced cross country and track- mostly the steeplechase! Unfortunately, after my sophomore year, they terminated our varsity running programs. As one door closed, another opened, and I was able to be a part of USA Triathlon's collegiate recruitment program that summer and have been racing professionally since. I love non- drafting Olympic distance events since it demands high intensity from the gun, but they are long enough to require true suffering. I am looking forward to racing the Escape Series this year and am stoked they are bringing back Pro Olympic distance non draft racing!
